Tips for Buying Heavy Equipment
- Buy the piece of equipment that will tackle your biggest job, even if you don’t need that much power all the time. You don’t want to have to buy another one or rent a piece of equipment down the road.
- Where you’re going to use the equipment counts as much as the type of equipment. Some skid steer loaders, forklift and aerial lifts, for example, are designed for rough terrain and others have different features, like less rugged wheels, that work much better on smooth surfaces or easily damaged turf.
- When investing in a piece of heavy equipment, you may want to look into TuffWerx premium services which include on-site inspections. It adds an extra step but still takes a lot less time than a traditional sale, and can save you in the long run knowing you’ve got the equipment that will stand up to the job.
